Tomodachi Kai Workshop 2020

Sometimes training in the arts can be an isolating endeavor. Bonsai is a deeply personal practice, but now you do not have to toil alone. Welcome to a new class series designed to bring comaraderie to a traditionally solo art form. Tomodachi Kai Workshop is a course designed for students each committed to bettering their own understanding of bonsai through cooperative learning, The same student group will meet once a month. Each student may bring as few or as many projects as they would like feedback from their peers, and from the resident expert (and comic), Hiro Matsuda.

The cornerstone of this course is the 12-month, consistent roster format that allows for accelerated learning. Students can learn from their own bonsai(s) coming to fruition and the experience of their classmates across a prolonged period. Finally, a long-term course, for bonsai, a long-term art form! For the benefit of all those in the group this course requires commitment, consistency, and camaraderie.

To help decrease the likelihood of mid-year drops, we will require registration fees in full at the start of the year.

The workshops are two hours Iong. Bring your own tools, plants, pots, and supplies or purchase them with discount during the class.

* You may add additional hours to your monthly workshop @ $25 per hour.
